You really should have tried Briwax on the table prior to doing all of the work of sanding, etc. We always suggest to try Briwax first and let it reveal to you what needs to be done next. Oftentimes the application of Briwax will clean the piece to your satisfaction while obscuring scratches, etc. and could be the only step necessary in the recovery of the piece. If Briwax alone doesn’t do the “trick” and give the results you want, then you know that you need to sand, stain, etc.
